The dance team was created in 2006 for Senior cheer members that had a passion to dance and to get involved with another aspect of cheerleading.

The team firstly focused Hip Hop and then developed their Pom Dance technique and had great success at regional competitions.

In 2008 a demand came from younger members of Spirit Shockers, who now train weekly under the name SHOCKwaves (and is open to non members) and intend to enter their first Hip Hop competitions in 2009
